Export volume up 13.4%

Hong Kong's total goods export volume rose 13.4% in April on the same month last year, while goods import volume grew 8.5%, the Census & Statistics Department says. Taken separately, the re-exports volume rose 14.7% and the domestic export volume dropped 17.1%.

 

The month saw the prices of goods re-exports rise 3.1%, and those of domestic exports climb 4.8%. Total goods export prices rose 3.2% and import prices 4.5%.

 

Comparing this year's first four months with the same period last year, the volume of Hong Kong's goods re-exports rose 11% while that of domestic exports fell 8.3%. Total goods export volume grew 10.2%, while goods import volume rose 9.3%.

 

The period saw the prices of goods re-exports rise 2.8%, and those of domestic exports grow 3.7%. Total goods export prices rose 2.8% while import prices rose 3.8%.
