HK, Macau strengthen tourism ties
*

Hong Kong and Macau are part of a larger tourism area, and have unique appeal to their visitors, Commissioner for Tourism Au King-chi says, adding the two jurisdictions can complement and supplement each other, and enrich visitors' tourism experience.

Miss Au today led a tourism delegation to meet Macau Government Tourist Office Director Eng Joao Manuel Costa Antunes in Macau to exchange views on tourism issues. This was the first exchange arranged under the new annual tourism exchange mechanism between the two places.

They discussed honest and quality tourism and joint efforts in the development and promotion of multi-destination itineraries, as well as the impact on Hong Kong and Macao tourism of the new holiday and paid leave policies on the Mainland.

Miss Au said the new exchange mechanism provides an effective platform for both sides to exchange views on tourism policy issues and to deepen collaboration and foster partnership in tourism development and promotion between the two places.

Hong Kong will host the next exchange meeting, expected to be held early next year.
