Hong Kong will host the 34th Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation Industrial Science & Technology Working Group Meeting March 27 and 28 to discuss ways to boost the regional development and the application of industrial science and technology.
It will bring together 60 government officials and regional science and technology experts, with the Innovation & Technology Commission representing Hong Kong.
Discussions will focus on four priority areas - human resources capacity building; international science and technology networking; connecting research and innovation; and, technological co-operation and strategic planning.
The working group wants to fulfil the APEC vision for the 21st Century, to make the region dynamic and prosperous by developing and applying industrial science and technology that improves life quality while safeguarding the natural environment and achieving sustainable development.
