About 300 entrepreneurs and professionals participated in the Cyberport Venture Capital Forum 2007 to learn how a creative business can be both profitable and socially responsible.
Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Chief Executive Officer Nicholas Yang was pleased to see so many entrepreneurs participating in this year's forum.
"In the future, we will see many more do-well and do-good businesses working together to create a society in which our future generations can live, work, enjoy and dream," he said.
Experience sharing
Entrepreneurs and investors who have real track records in building creative, financially sound and socially responsible businesses were invited to share their insights and experiences.
The forum particularly wanted to convey a message that corporate social responsibility should be built into a company's business model in a proactive and creative manner, to achieve long-term sustainability.
To help participants understand the message, Kevin Jones, Principal and founder of Good Capital, and Megatoys Company Chief Executive Officer Charles Woo were invited to share their experiences in creating for-profit and socially responsible enterprises.
There was also a venture capitalist panel, a socially responsible entrepreneur panel, and an investor-investee dialogue session. The panellists and expert moderators brought fresh ideas, innovative insights and creative visions on how to do well and do good in business.
