September bankruptcy petitions fall 14.1%

September saw 777 bankruptcy petitions filed, down 14.1% on a year earlier, according to the Official Receiver's Office's latest figures. However, the number of bankruptcy orders made by the court rose 30.3%, to 1,014.

 

Compared with August, the number of bankruptcy petitions in September fell 23.52% while bankruptcy orders fell 7.23%.

 

Taking this year's first nine months together, the number of bankruptcy petitions recorded a 4.69% year-on-year rise, to 8,416. The number of bankruptcy orders made by the court also rose 12.6%, to 8,755.
