Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Frederick Ma will co-chair the first meeting of the Steering Group on Shenzhen-Hong Kong Co-operation in Innovation & Technology with Shenzhen Municipal Government Executive Vice-Mayor Liu Yingli in Shenzhen October 15.

The steering group was formed under the co-operation agreement on Shenzhen-Hong Kong Innovation Circle. Members comprise senior government officials and technology support organisations.

The group's key function is to help high-level deliberation in forming details for implementing the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Innovation Circle.

Before the meeting Mr Ma will visit technology institutions in the Shenzhen Hi-Tech Park and officiate at the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Productivity Foundation opening ceremony.

He will also visit the Hong Kong Pavilion and Shenzhen-Hong Kong Innovation Circle Pavilion at China Hi-Tech Fair 2007 in the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Centre.
