Thousands of people have taken advantage of Hongkong Post's free-letter day to let their loved ones know they are thinking of them.
Hongkong Post launched the drive to promote World Post Day and letter writing.
Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Frederick Ma visited the General Post Office today to support the event. He presented a letter to all Hongkong Post staff members commending the high quality and reliability of the postal service, encouraging them to continue their efforts. He also posted a personal letter.
World Post Day is celebrated each year on October 9, the anniversary of the establishment of the Universal Postal Union in 1874 in the Swiss capital, Bern. Many countries around the world participate in the celebration.
