The second meeting of the Hong Kong-Guangdong Expert Group on Co-operation in Informatisation was held at Cyberport today, with participants witnessing the signing of three partnership agreements between the two jurisdictions' information and communications technology industries.

The pacts were on software outsourcing co-operation between Hong Kong Software Outsourcing Alliance and Guangdong Software Outsourcing Council, open source software co-operation between Hong Kong Linux Industry Association and Guangdong Linux Centre, and digital home and digital entertainment co-operation between the Hong Kong Productivity Council and Guangdong Public Support Centre of Digital Home Service & Technology.

The Hong Kong Government representatives reviewed the major progress on co-operation in informatisation last year with the Guangdong Province Information Industry Department Vice-Director Zou Sheng.

A certificate presentation ceremony was also held to recognise the successful inclusion of Linux solutions from 15 Hong Kong companies in the Guangdong Linux Software & Hardware Recommended Procurement List.

Deputy Government Chief Information Officer Stephen Mak and representatives from the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer, Innovation & Technology Commission, Customs & Excise Department and Office of the Telecommunications Authority represented Hong Kong.
