Securities market turnover breaks record

Record high: The Hang Seng Index closed at a record high of 21,582 on June 18, up 565 points.

The Hang Seng Index closed at a record high of 21,582 on June 18, up 565 points, the HKEx says. The securities market turnover value was $101 billion, the largest ever.

 

Today's turnover value for H-share and red-chip companies was $44 billion and $15 billion. Derivative warrants turnover was also the largest ever, at $15.8 billion.

 

A total of 798,209 trades were concluded, breaking the previous record of 720,072 on June 15. The closing market capitalisation was a new high of $15.7 trillion. The previous high was set on June 15, at $15.4 trillion.
