People can now apply to the Census & Statistics Department to obtain disclosable particulars relating to 350,000 active Hong Kong establishments.
The information is updated quarterly through feedback from surveys and administrative returns from Government departments.
Information regarding of the third quarter of 2006 is now updated onto the department's Central Register of Establishments. It serves as the sampling frame for economic surveys.
Other departments and private organisations also use the disclosable particulars in their surveys, publicity, promotions, customer classification and research. These disclosable particulars cover establishments' name, address, type of business and employment-size class.
The particulars are available in two forms - the 20% sample listing and the matching operation with specified establishments. For details, call 2582 4760.
