Household income up 4.4%

Median household monthly income in the third quarter grew to $16,700, up 4.4% on the same period last year, while the median individual monthly salary rose 2% to $10,000.

 

The Census & Statistics Department's latest household survey found that the number of employees grew 3.3% to 3,496,100. Of them, 1,890,200 are men.

 

The unemployement rate fell to 4.7%, compared with the 5.4% figure recorded in the same period last year. The number of unemployed fell 12.2% to 180,400.
