HK, Mexico sign air services pact

Air-tight: Secretary for Economic Development & Labour Stephen Ip exchanges documents with Mexican Consul General Mario Leal Campos after signing the air services pact.

*

Hong Kong and Mexico have signed an air services agreement to boost passenger and cargo traffic between the two places and expand the former's air services network. This is Hong Kong's 57th air services pact with foreign aviation partners.

Secretary for Economic Development & Labour Stephen Ip and Mexican Consul General Mario Leal Campos signed the pact today, which offers a legal framework for the establishment of air links between the two jurisdictions.

Mr Ip said Mexico is Hong Kong's second Latin American aviation partner and has an extensive aviation network in the Americas.

"To enhance Hong Kong's position as an international and regional aviation centre, we will continue to expand our air services network in line with our progressive liberalisation policy in aviation," he said.
