The value of domestic exports classified as consumer electrical and electronic products rose 49.6% in the third quarter over the same period last year, to $6.7 billion, the Census & Statistics Department says.
The value of apparel; machinery, equipment, apparatus, parts and components; and textiles, all registered a fall. They fell 27.7% to $5.2 billion, 21.1% to $4.4 billion, and 20.9% to $11 billion.
These four major industries together accounted for 73% of Hong Kong's total domestic exports.
As for other manufacturing industries, a notable increase was registered for the value of domestic exports classified as basic metals and fabricated metal products, up 49% to $1.9 billion.
