Secretary for Commerce, Industry & Technology Joseph Wong will leave tonight for a five-day visit to Budapest, Geneva and Paris.
In Budapest, Mr Wong will deliver a keynote speech at a business seminar jointly organised by the Trade Development Council and Hong Kong Economic &Trade Office in London.
He will meet with Hungarian officials and business leaders, including Minister of Economy & Transport Dr Janos Koka and Ambassador-at-large and ex-Prime Minister Peter Medgyessy.
In Geneva he will meet WTO Director-General Pascal Lamy, as well as the chairs of various WTO Trade Negotiating Groups to exchange views on the latest development of the Doha Round of negotiations. He will also meet World Economic Forum's Executive Chairman Professor Klaus Schwab.
In Paris Mr Wong will join Chief Executive Donald Tsang at a business luncheon and the Hong Kong France Business Partnership Plenary jointly organised by the Trade Development Council and the Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office in Brussels.
Mr Wong will also attend the Hong Kong-Guangdong Business Conference co-organised by Invest Hong Kong and the Guangdong Provincial Government, and make a speech. He will return to Hong Kong November 11.
