Gov't welcomes ideas for better flat sales

*

The Housing, Planning & Lands Bureau will welcome any concrete measures adopted by the Real Estate Developers Association to enhance the operation and effectiveness of the self-regulatory regime on the sale of incomplete flats.

It will monitor closely the association's discussion and implementation of its internal Compliance Committee and related matters.

In conjunction with the Consumer Council and the Estate Agents Authority, it will have regular dialogue with the association and identify areas for further improvement.

The Government will consider taking more stringent steps to improve sale arrangements for incomplete flats, including the option of legislative control should the association's new measures prove to be inadequate or ineffective.
