The Monetary Authority has granted a banking licence to the Bank of Baroda, bringing the number of licensed banks in Hong Kong to 137. The licence took effect August 25.

According to the Banker, the Bank of Baroda, incorporated in 1908, is the sixth largest bank in India in terms of total assets.
