Secretary for Commerce, Industry & Technology Joseph Wong will leave for Geneva tonight to attend the World Trade Organization's Trade Negotiations Committee meetings.
Ministers of WTO member economies are expected to participate in intensive negotiations on the Doha Development Agenda.
Hong Kong hopes ministers can reach consensus on the modalities for agriculture and non-agriculture market access, and reaffirm their commitment to creating commercially meaningful market opportunities for service providers in this round of negotiations.
Mr Wong will return to Hong Kong on July 4.
