The Customs & Excise Department will launch a scheme in October combating intellectual property rights infringement at large-scale exhibitions.
Details of the Fast Action Scheme were announced in a seminar today.
Companies joining exhibitions can provide information on the brands and copyrights of their products to relating industry organisations in advance for verification and record keeping.
Once suspected intellectual property rights infringement activities occur, Customs officers can follow up based on the information collected.
In the exhibitions on electronic products this October, Customs will join the Brands Protection Alliance in a trial scheme.
