Secretary for Economic Development & Labour and Maritime Industry Council Chairman Stephen Ip is leading a council delegation to Xiamen to promote Hong Kong's port and maritime services.

The visit will bolster the relationship between the maritime industries in Fujian and Hong Kong.

A seminar will be held in Xiamen tomorrow to promote the quality maritime services available in Hong Kong.

Mr Ip will meet Fujian Provincial Government Vice-Governor Ye Shuangyu, officials of the Xiamen Municipal Government and the Port Administration Bureau as well as representatives of the maritime and port industry.

The delegation includes Director of Marine Roger Tupper, Deputy Secretary for Economic Development & Labour Janice Tse, council members Frank Tsao and Liang Ming-hang, Port Development Council member Professor Victor Sit, and representatives of Hong Kong's maritime cluster.

The delegation will return to Hong Kong on Friday.
