A total of 38 stalls for the 2006 Tai Po Lam Tsuen Fong Ma Po Fair will be up for auction on January 6, the Food & Environmental Hygiene Department says.

Opening prices range from $540 to $760 for the 32 dry goods stalls and six wet goods stalls.

To cope with the arrangements for protecting the Wish Making Trees, the department will hold a fair on a trial basis from January 29 to February 12, from 8am to 6pm daily, at Tai Po Lam Tsuen Fong Ma Po.

For the protection of the Wish Making Trees, stall operators will be banned from selling placards tied with any heavy object.

The auction will begin at 9.30am on January 6 at Tai Yuen Community Hall, Tai Yuen Estate, Tai Po. Dry goods stalls will be auctioned first.

Bidders must be at least 18 years old and children under six years will not be allowed to enter the auction venue.
