9.7% cut in film-censorship fees mooted
*

Film censorship fees will be lowered 9.7% to $65 from $72 per minute of running time from February 10, subject to lawmakers' approval, the Commerce, Industry & Technology Bureau says.

The fee revision is attributable to the savings resulting from Television & Entertainment Licensing Authority's efficiency improvement measures.

The move will bring down operating costs for film producers who intend to exhibit films publicly in Hong Kong, a positive move for the film industry's development.

The Film Censorship (Fee Reduction) Regulation 2005, gazetted today, will be tabled to the Legislative Council on December 14.
