John Tsang to attend WTO meeting
*

Secretary for Commerce, Industry & Technology John Tsang will depart for Zurich tomorrow to attend the Fluela Group Meeting.

 

The meeting will consider the progress of the Doha negotiations, aiming to set the goal and charting the course for the World Trade Organisation's 6th Ministerial Conference in Hong Kong in December. WTO Director General Pascal Lamy will join the meeting.

 

The meeting will also draw trade ministers from the Mainland, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Egypt, the European Community, India, Japan, Kenya, South Korea, Malaysia, Rwanda, South Africa and the US.

 

While in Zurich Mr Tsang will also hold bilateral meetings with the trade ministers of Switzerland and Egypt, before returning to Hong Kong October 11.
