WTO head to attend roundtable forum in HK
*

The World Trade Organisation's new Director-General Pascal Lamy will listen to non-governmental organisations' views on issues related to WTO Sixth Ministerial Conference at a roundtable forum in Hong Kong on October 16.

Organised as part of the countdown to MC6 in December, the face-to-face meeting will provide a good platform for NGOs to express, discuss and exchange views.

The forum's keynote speakers will be Mr Lamy and Secretary for Commerce, Industry & Technology John Tsang, who is also the MC6 chairman.

The forum will run from 2.30pm to 5pm on October 16 at University of Hong Kong's Rayson Huang Theatre and will be webcast live on the MC6 website.

MC6-registered NGOs to get priority

Non-governmental organisations that want to attend the forum should email ngo@wtomc6.gov.hk or call 2911 0374 before October 12 to make reservations. Priority will be given to those NGOs that have applied for registration for MC6.

Mr Lamy will arrive in Hong Kong on October 15 and leave immediately after the forum.
