Oil Street land sale rejected

Lands Department

The Lands Department has rejected two applications for the sale of the former Government Supplies Depot in Oil Street, North Point.

The land, at 1.47 hectares, is planned for residential-commercial use. It is one of the rolled-over sites in the 2005-06 Land Sale Programme. The department rejected a similar application in April.

There was only one land exchange application in May, bringing the year's total to seven. The application involved land on Hong Kong Island.

Two lease modification applications were received in May, bringing the year's total to 47. Fifteen involved land on Hong Kong Island, 22 in Kowloon and 10 in the New Territories.
