Oil Street land sale application rejected

*
Lands Department

The Lands Department has rejected an application for sale of the ex-Government Supplies Depot on Oil Street in North Point.

The piece of land, with an area of about 1.47 hectares, is planned for residential-commercial use. It is one of the rolled-over sites in the 2005-06 Land Sale Programme.

Meanwhile, April saw a 46% surge in the number of new applications for lease modification, bringing this year's total applications to 38. Among them, 13 involved land on Hong Kong Island, 18 in Kowloon and seven in the New Territories.

On land exchange, the department received one application involving land in Kowloon, bringing this year's total to six. The other five applications involve land in the New Territories.
