Hong Kong's foreign currency reserve assets stood at US$122.4 billion in March, down $1.5 billion on February. The figure represents over six times the currency in circulation, or about 42% of Hong Kong dollar M3.
Including unsettled forward contracts, foreign currency reserve assets also went down to US$122.4 billion in March from US$123.9 billion in February.
In terms of foreign currency reserves ranking, Hong Kong is the world's seventh largest holder of foreign currency reserves after Japan, the Mainland, Taiwan, South Korea, India and Russia.
