Building sales, purchases up 6.3%

Land Registry

Sale and purchase agreements for all types of building units in March rose 6.3% over a month earlier to 10,238, with the total consideration at $33.3 billion, up 14.7% on February.

 

The Land Registry said both the number and total consideration of agreements fell 26.5% and 18.7% over a year earlier.

 

Using a 12-month moving average, the number of agreements in March represented a dip of 3% from February but a surge of 14.6% compared with March last year.

 

Among the agreements, 8,673 were for residential units, up 5% on February but down 24.2% over a year earlier. The total consideration of these agreements was $26.7 billion, up 13.6% from February but down 19.1% over a year earlier.
