Financial Secretary Henry Tang will present the 2005-06 Budget Speech to the Legislative Council at 2.30pm March 16. It will be broadcast live at www.budget.gov.hk and on electronic media.

Secretary for Financial Services & the Treasury Frederick Ma will also move a resolution under the Public Finance Ordinance to give the authority for a sum not exceeding $56.858 billion to be charged on the general revenue for expenditure on Government services for the next financial year.

Following his speech, Mr Tang will hold a press conference at 5pm and partake in an one-hour joint television panel discussion programm at 8.30pm. Both will be broadcast live at www.budget.gov.hk and on TV and radio channels.

Mr Tang and Mr Ma will attend TV and radio programmes on Thursday and Saturday to explain the proposals.
