Business, creative celebrities attend HK forum
*

An eclectic mix of business and creative celebrities will attend the second annual Digital Entertainment Leadership Forum on March 23.

 

This is the second time Hong Kong Cyberport will host the forum, and this year's focus will be on Creative Collaboration in the Digital Entertainment Value Chain.

 

Organised by the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer and the Cyberport Management Company, the event is an important annual forum for Hong Kong's digital entertainment industry. It will be a feature gathering of the Entertainment Expo in Hong Kong, Asia's new mega event in film and digital entertainment.

 

Big names

Attendees include President of Shanda Interactive Entertainment Jun Tang, Academy Award winning recording mixer for the blockbuster Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King Michael Hedges, and Animation World Network's Publisher & Co-founder Dan Sarto. They will share their visions and knowledge.

 

Other prominent speakers include Bill Bishop of Red Mushroom, a Beijing-based online game studio; Robert Chua, Chairman, The Interactive Channel; Doug Church, Creative Director, Eidos Interactive; Gary Goddard of Gary Goddard Entertainment; John Griffin of Dolby Laboratories' Content & Studio Service Group; Pascal Herold, President Directeur General of Duran-Duboi; and, American McGee of American McGee's Alice.

Digital extravaganza

Cyberport will also be holding the first Digital Entertainment Consumer Extravaganza between March 23 and 28, to showcase a wide range of high-end and high-tech digital entertainment consumer products, including IP-based home entertainment systems.

 

Participants can see the one and only one Cyberport 360 degree surround vision film which is open to the public for the first time.

 

The forum will also bring in a world-class animation feature combining culture and creativity for the registrants free. Directed by renowned cartoonist Sylvain Chomet, the film BELLEVILLE RENDEZ-VOUS is nominated for two Academy Awards and a World Cinema Award.
