Building unit sales down 3.6%

Sale and purchase agreements for all types of building units in January fell 3.6% to 10,138, on the previous month. However, compared to January last year the figure rose 7.1%.

 

Using a 12-month moving average, the figure represented a 0.5% increase on December, and a 38.7% rise on January last year. The total consideration of these agreements was $31.2 billion, down 7% on December, but up 37.7% on January last year.

 

Among the 10,138 sale and purchase agreements, 7,909 were for residential units, down 3.1% on December, but up 2.4% on January last year. The total consideration of these agreements was $23.3 billion, down 2.5% on December, but up 29.2% on January last year.
