16 building plans approved in August

The Buildings Department approved 16 building plans in August - four on Hong Kong Island, four in Kowloon and eight in the New Territories.

 

Of the approved plans, six are for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, three are for commercial developments, two are for factory and industrial developments and five are for community services developments.

 

The department also gave consent for work to start on 13 building projects that, when completed, will provide 3,536 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving eight units, and 41,443 square metres of gross floor area for non-domestic use.

 

The department also issued 26 occupation permits - six on Hong Kong Island, nine in Kowloon and 11 in the New Territories.

 

Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor areas for domestic uses were 13,630 square metres, involving 46 units, and 218,564 square metres for non-domestic use.

 

Cost of new buildings completed in August: $3.3b

The declared cost of the new buildings completed in August totalled about $3.294 billion.

 

In addition, 10 demolition consents involving 10 building structures were issued.

 

The department received 2,038 complaints against unauthorised building works in August, and issued 1,845 removal orders on unauthorised works.
