Hong Kong's foreign-currency reserve assets amounted to US$120.1 billion at the end of May, a dip of US$2 billion since April. The figure includes unsettled forward contracts.
Hong Kong is the world's fifth largest holder of foreign currency reserves, after Japan, the Mainland, Taiwan and South Korea.
The total foreign currency reserve assets represent over six times the currency in circulation or 45% of Hong Kong dollar M3.
