At the invitation of the State Council Hong Kong & Macao Affairs Office, Financial Secretary Henry Tang will leave for Beijing tomorrow to take part in a study tour to the northeast for the industrial, commercial and professional sectors from Hong Kong and Macao.

The study tour will set off from Beijing on June 7 to visit Dalian and Shenyang of Liaoning Province, Changchun of Jilin Province and Harbin of Heilongjiang Province to study the local industries and other economic activities.

The tour will also attend briefings and meetings arranged by the relevant authorities to gain a better understanding of the local economic situation and investment environment.

Mr Tang will end his visit and return to Hong Kong on June 12.

During Mr Tang's absence from Hong Kong Secretary for Financial Services & the Treasury Frederick Ma will double up as Financial Secretary.
