Gov't studies ways to improve KCRC operations
*

Secretary for Financial Services & the Treasury Frederick Ma says the Government will study various ways to improve the operation of the KCRC, which is solely owned by the Government.

Speaking on a radio talk show this morning, Mr Ma said the reduction in the corporation's profits may affect its future plans and the concessions it offers to passengers.

The Secretary said the Government will study ways to help the corporation boost the patronage on the West Rail and he is confident that the KCRC management will be able to improve the company's financial situation.

Meanwhile, Mr Ma said the Legislative Council will discuss the arrangement related to the issuance of up to $20 billion worth of Government bonds in 2004-05 next Thursday.
