Tim Freshwater, Charles Lee and KS Lo have been reappointed members of the Board of the Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing Limited for two years from tomorrow.
Financial Secretary Henry Tang said the Government attaches great importance to the appointments as a means to ensure that public interests, particularly those of the investing public, are sufficiently represented, adding that the three have made valuable contributions to the exchange in the past four years.
Mr Freshwater is the Chairman of Corporate Finance and Managing Director of Goldman Sachs Asia. Mr Lee is a solicitor and consultant of Woo, Kwan, Lee & Lo. Mr Lo is the Deputy Chairman and Managing Director of Great Eagle Holdings Limited.
The board comprises a maximum of six directors elected by shareholders, the Chief Executive of the HKEx, and a maximum of six appointees of the Financial Secretary. The other directors appointed by the Financial Secretary are Henry Fan, Fong Hup and Leong Ka-chai.
