Breaking new ground: Secretary for Commerce, Industry & Technology John Tsang says the construction of AsiaWorld-Expo will enhance the local exhibition trade's competitiveness.
*

AsiaWorld-Expo will offer another choice for exhibition organisers from across the world, Secretary for Commerce, Industry & Technology John Tsang says, adding that the new venue will enhance Hong Kong exhibition trade's competitiveness.

Speaking after the ground-breaking ceremony of the venue today, Mr Tsang said the new venue, together with the existing HK Convention & Exhibition Centre, will offer adequate space for large-scale exhibitions.

Noting that the two venues target different kinds of exhibitions, the secretary told reporters that the Government will talk with the management of the two venues on co-operation issues.

Located at Chep Lap Kok, AsiaWorld-Expo will provide 66,000 square metres of space for organising exhibitions.
