Budget reflects Gov't policy direction: CE
*

The Budget has fully reflected the Government's policy direction of people-based governance, allowing the community some respite, and the revitalisation of our economy, Chief Executive Tung Chee Hwa says.

Mr Tung described the Budget as a good one, and hoped citizens will support it.

Chief Secretary for Administration Donald Tsang said the Budget is prudent and pragmatic.

He said Financial Secretary Henry Tang has made a good balance between maintaining our competitiveness and the Government's spending programme.

Mr Tang has also made every effort to meet our community's aspirations and the spending programmes of various bureaux.

Mr Tsang believes the community will welcome the Budget, which has gained the support of all principal officials.
