Motor LPG prices to fall from February 1
*

The ceiling prices of motor liquefied petroleum gas for dedicated LPG filling stations will fall, by 16 cents  to 18 cents a litre, starting February 1. Maximum per-litre prices will fall to a range of $1.91 to $2.28.

The decline is due to the steady low LPG international price from July to November last year and the fall in  the Composite Consumer Price Index.

This is a six-monthly exercise according to the terms and conditions for the award of contracts for dedicated stations.

Ceiling prices remain in effect until July 31

The new ceiling prices will last until July 31. The next adjustment is scheduled on August 1, based on the pricing formula specified in each contract.

The actual selling price of motor LPG at a dedicated station may be lower than the ceiling price, depending on the decision of the respective contractor based on market conditions.

The previous ceiling prices at the dedicated stations - of $2.07 to $2.46 per litre - were adjusted on August 1 last year, according to the average LPG international price from January to June last year.
