John Tsang heads for Australia
*

The Secretary for Commerce, Industry & Technology John Tsang will leave Wednesday for a seven-day visit to Australia.

He will meet political and business leaders, and media representatives to brief them on Hong Kong's latest developments, including our post-SARS economic recovery, the signing of CEPA and the vast business opportunities available in the Pearl River Delta for Australian investors.

In Melbourne, he will call on the Treasurer, the Minister for Innovation, and the Victorian Minister for State & Regional Development. He will also see the Ministers for Manufacturing & Export, and the Financial Services Industry, plus the Federal Minister for Trade.

Mr Tsang will visit the Co-operative Research Centre and the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, and address the 2003 Victorian Pearl Awards Gala Dinner organised by the HK Australia Business Association.

Sydney and Canberra also on the programme

In Sydney, Mr Tsang will speak at a luncheon organised by the Asia Society. He will also visit the Australian Technology Park.

In Canberra, he will meet Federal Minister for Communication, Information Technology & the Arts Daryl Williams, the Federal Minister for Industry, Tourism & Resources Ian Macfarlane, and the Parliamentary Secretary for Trade De-Anne Kelly.

Mr Tsang will return to Hong Kong on November 26.
