Henry Tang to visit Beijing
*

Financial Secretary Henry Tang will fly to Beijing on November 16 to officiate at the opening of the HK Exchanges & Clearing Representative Office the following day.

 

The new office is one of the specific commitments on liberalisation of trade in services for the financial sector under CEPA.

 

Secretary for Financial Services & the Treasury Frederick Ma will also attend.

 

Mr Tang and Mr Ma will address a conference organised by HKEx to mark the 10th anniversary of the listing of Mainland enterprises in Hong Kong.

 

Mr Tang will also call on Central People's Government senior officials to discuss matters of mutual interest.

 

During Mr Tang's visit, Secretary for Economic Development & Labour Stephen Ip will double up as Financial Secretary.
