Pearl River promotion: Secretary for Commerce, Industry & Technology John Tsang and Guangdong Governor Huang Huahua (both centre) promote the Pearl River Delta region to Korean companies at a joint investment seminar in Seoul.

Secretary for Commerce, Industry & Technology John Tsang has begun a busy schedule of investment-promotion activities in Seoul, the first time such a trade mission has been jointly organised by the Government and Mainland provincial authorities.

Following a meeting with Guangdong Governor Huang Huahua this morning, Mr Tsang addressed a seminar audience of 500 on business opportunities in the greater Pearl River Delta region, embracing Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau.

Mr Tsang later addressed another seminar on the Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement, telling Korean investors how they can benefit from it.

He also called on Korean Minister of Science & Technology Dr Park Ho Koon and Korea Design Centre Chairman Dr Kim Chul Ho to discuss matters of mutual interest.

Mr Tsang will visit LG Electronics to see the latest Korean mobile phone technology tomorrow and will return to Hong Kong in the evening.
