Chief Executive Tung Chee Hwa will attend the seventh China International Fair for Investment & Trade in Xiamen on September 8 and address the International Investment Forum. A Hong Kong pavilion will also be set up to showcase our advantages and investment environment.
Mr Tung will leave for Xiamen on September 7, and later meet Vice Premier Wu Yi, together with a group of Hong Kong business leaders.
The four-day fair is the only investment promotion on the Mainland to attract foreign direct investment.
Acting Financial Secretary Frederick Ma will deliver a keynote speech at a dinner hosted by the Hong Kong Government on September 8, and will officiate at a seminar on CEPA the following day.
The pavilion, jointly set up by InvestHK and the Trade Development Council at the International Conference & Exhibition Centre in Xiamen, will help promote Hong Kong as the ideal gateway for both overseas companies vying the Mainland market and Mainland firms seeking to expand their presence overseas.
It will comprise 12 booths highlighting Hong Kong's advantages and the trade services we provide.
The Government will also run two seminars on CEPA and information technology on September 9.
Chief Secretary for Administration Donald Tsang will act as Chief Executive during Mr Tung's absence.
