Budding artists: Wong Chun-bong, Lam Kwan-fai and Tiffany Au will further their study in music or dance overseas.

Three talented young people have been awarded scholarships totalling $1.5 million under the Jockey Club Music & Dance Fund for 2009-10.

Tiffany Au will study bassoon in the UK for two years, while Lam Kwan-fai will attend a two-year course in composition and Wong Chun-bong will study choreography in the US.

As the scholarship provides financial support for tuition fees, subsistence and air tickets, they can concentrate on their study and contribute to Hong Kong's arts development.

Since its establishment in 1980, the fund has awarded 259 music and dance scholarships totalling $39.6 million, benefiting 186 talented young people.
