Three forums will be held in the coming two months to gauge public views on the development of printed textbooks and e-learning resources.
The Working Group on the Development of Textbooks & e-Learning Resources' first forum will be held at 10am February 7 at Sha Tin Town Hall. The other two will be held 7pm February 27 at Henry G Leong Yaumatei Community Centre, and 10am March 7 at North Point Kaifong Welfare Advancement Association Dr Seaker Chan Shui Kui Hall.
Topics for discussion include the quality and price of printed textbooks and the development of e-learning resources. For details click here or call 2762 1517.
The working group will also conduct a questionnaire survey of principals and teachers and co-organise two student forums with the Hong Kong 200 Association of the Federation of Youth Groups to get views from a wider cross-section of the community.
Under Secretary for Education Kenneth Chen said the Education Bureau adopts an open attitude to the development of printed textbooks and e-learning resources.
"Views obtained from the forums and the questionnaire survey will help the working group to conduct in-depth discussions for putting forward feasible and representative recommendations to the Secretary for Education by the end of this year," Mr Chen said.
