The Standing Committee on Language Education & Research is inviting proposals for grants to organise activities promoting the use of Putonghua in 2008-09.  Deadline for submission is 6pm September 25.

Applicants for grants should aim to arouse public and student interest in the learning and use of Putonghua. Priority will be given to activities allowing participants to use and practise the language in the daily environment.

The proposed activities, to be conducted between 2008 and 2009, should be open to the public, students and teachers. Proposals targeting specific districts, occupations, organisations, communities or societies will not be considered.
