The Education Bureau announced today two new school premises being planned, together with two vacant school premises, will be open to applications by school sponsoring bodies for reprovisioning secondary and primary schools in the 2nd School Allocation Exercise 2008.
The two new premises, one for primary and the other for secondary school, are located in Kwun Tong, while the two vacant primary school premises are in Sha Tin.
The bureau seeks to provide better facilities to public sector and Direct Subsidy Scheme schools which are incapable of infrastructure improvements due to the lack of space and other physical constraints.
Allocation is on a competitive basis. Quality of education will be the prime consideration in assessing reprovisioning applications. Factors to be considered include the operation track record of the school proposed to be reprovisioned, the school plan after relocation and the physical condition of the school's existing premises.
More information, application forms and other reference materials are available here. Applications must be submitted to the Infrastructure & Research Support Division (Room 1427, 14/F Wu Chung House, 213 Queen's Road East, Wan Chai, Hong Kong) by October 17. For enquiries call 2892 5436 or 2892 6391.
