Four subsidised S6 places for the Commerce (Chinese medium) stream at the Cheung Chau Government Secondary School are still available for application by Secondary 5 students tomorrow.
Stage IV of the S6 admission procedure was completed today. As only the Cheung Chau school is still left with S6 places, there will not be stage V, or any central allocation of places, and central allocation application centres will not operate tomorrow.
All Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination participants with results meeting the minimum A-level entry requirements who have not yet obtained an S6 place can apply for admission directly at the Cheung Chau school from 9am to 3.30pm tomorrow.
No interviews will be conducted. The school will inform successful applicants by August 12 to proceed with registration.
As some students having secured places may decide not to take them up at the start of the new school year, vacancy information will continue to be available on the Education Bureau's S6 admission procedure webpage and the bureau's Regional Education Offices throughout September. Eligible students without an S6 place can apply directly to the schools with vacancies.
Students can also choose sub-degree programmes based on their interests. Click here for details, or visit websites of individual tertiary education institutions for publicly-funded programmes.
Project Yi Jin
To help students join Project Yi Jin, the Federation for Continuing Education in Tertiary Institutions will hold an exhibition and joint registration at the International Trade & Exhibition Centre in Kowloon Bay on August 9 and 10.
The bureau has also arranged an approved course operator to run evening senior secondary courses in designated government schools. Students meeting requirements will be eligible for a reimbursement of 30%, 50% or 100% of the course fee. For details, call the Hong Kong College of Technology on 2192 8118.
