The sixth session of the Applied Learning pilot courses will start in September, with 12 providers offering courses in six areas.
More than 3,000 students in the fourth session have completed their studies, with some having completed more than one course. In the fifth session, there are around 4,600 students enrolled in 20 Applied Learning pilot courses in the six study areas.
In August 2006, career-oriented studies were renamed as applied learning. It has been confirmed as an elective subject in the Senior Secondary Curriculum of the 334 Academic Structure.
When the 334 academic structure is in place, students' achievements in applied learning will be recorded in the Diploma of Secondary Education as elective subjects.
To pave the way for the sustainable development of applied learning, the Education Bureau is planning to invite interested institutions to participate in a series of research projects. For details, click here.
