A team of six Hong Kong secondary students scored three silver and three bronze medals at the China Mathematical Olympiad 2008, marking the city's best ever achievement in the competition.
A total of 195 students from 34 teams took part in the competition held from January 17 to 22 in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province. The six Hong Kong students are members of the Education Bureau's Support Measures for the Exceptionally Gifted Students Scheme.
St Joseph's College student Wong Chiu Wai, Diocesan Boys' School's Yuen Chi Ho, and La Salle College's Li Cheuk Ting won the silver medals.
Bronze medallists are Shun Tak Fraternal Association Lee Shau Kee College's Lam Cho Ho, SKH Leung Kwai Yee Secondary School's Tai Wai Ming, and St Paul's College's Tai Yee Ka.
