Transportation company fined for safety breach

Kwun Tong Magistracy has fined Why Not Transportation $20,000 for breaching the Occupational Safety & Health Ordinance.

 

One of the company's workers was hit and killed by a forklift truck while he was loading goods onto a lorry in Kowloon Bay on September 3 last year.

 

Any employer who fails to provide a safe system of work, and the necessary information, instruction and supervision to ensure its employee's safety and health, is liable to a fine of $200,000 and six months' jail.
